Activities Coordinator

The Activities Coordinator oversees the daily operations of our programming department to ensure every resident enjoys a vibrant lifestyle. This leader manages social initiatives that align with state and federal regulations while following our high internal standards. By using comprehensive assessments, the coordinator develops meaningful activities that support the physical, mental, and emotional health of each individual. 

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Two (2) years of college; degree preferred, but not necessary. 
  • Prefer as a minimum two (2) years of experience in a social or recreation program within the last five (5) years, one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting, or Certified Nurse Aide/Adult Care Home Personal Care Aide and Medication Aide experience, and/or educational training. 
  • Must be willing to complete a Certified Activities Director course within 9 months of hire, if not currently certified. 

Wait Staff

Job Description

  • Promptly and warmly greets residents in the dining room; efficiently takes food and beverages. 
  • Delivers food promptly and professionally; maintains safe food handling and sanitation standards. Follows up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests. 
  • Communicates directly with the dietary staff to ensure that meals are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated. 
  • Exhibits exceptional communication skills and demonstrates the ability to get along well with others. Remains flexible and patient when communicating with residents and staff. 
  • Promotes a clean, safe, and neat dining area for residents and guests. 
  • Maintains a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information that is shared. 
  • Promptly addresses complaints or issues; relays relevant information or complaints directly to the supervisor. 
  • Ensures the dining room is properly set up before and after the service period; keeps the area clean and neat while meeting established sanitation standards. 
  • Operates a variety of equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines. 
  • Works with staff of other departments to perform job duties during special events and functions. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Cook – Dietary

Job Description

  • Follows planned approved menus. 
  • Prepares food items for resident and staff meals, as well as for special events. 
  • Plans cooking schedule to have food ready to serve on time. 
  • Prepares and cooks food according to approved recipes and established guidelines. 
  • Prepares food for therapeutic diets. 
  • Serves food in a timely and attractive manner. 
  • Serves food either hot or cold as required. 
  • Prepares and covers trays for residents. 
  • Takes requests for extra servings of food or beverages. 
  • Clears and cleans tables in dining rooms when needed. 
  • Washes, rinses, and sanitizes pots, pans, and service ware according to established procedures and assists with other cleaning as needed or assigned. 
  • Keeps stove, sinks, cabinets, tables, and equipment cleaned and sanitized. 
  • Maintains a clean department at all times, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, equipment cleaning, etc. 
  • Utilizes the most sanitary methods to handle, prepare, and serve food. 
  • Assists with other dietary requirements as assigned, including paperwork. 
  • In the absence of the Dietary Director, will assume responsibility for the dietary department and will be in charge of the staff. If inadequate staff is available, will assume responsibility for finding replacements and will work an assignment if replacement staff cannot be found.

Housekeeping

Overview

Assist in the overall cleaning of an assisted living community to ensure that residents are provided with an uncluttered and orderly environment while assuring cleanliness. 

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write, understand, and follow directions. 
  • Must have no substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program. 
  • Must have a clear SBI record and maintain it during the period of employment. 
  • Must have two-step tuberculin skin test (first step before hire and second test within two weeks of first test). 

Adult Care Home Medication Aide

  • First Shift, Second Shift, and Third Shift

Job Summary

The overall purpose of the Medication Aide position is to administer oral and topical medications to residents. Incumbents perform these tasks as ordered by physicians, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations, and consistent with the facility policies. Performs routine daily tasks required to maintain the health, comfort, and well-being of residents. Functioning within the constraints of established policy and procedure consistent with accepted/allowed standards of practice and state and federal regulations. Working contacts include residents/authority for decisions specific to assigned functions under the direction of a licensed nurse, but may seek additional direction from the charge nurse, nurse supervisor, director of nursing, or administrator, as appropriate.

Certified Nurse Aide/Personal Care Aide

  • First Shift, Second Shift, and Third Shift 
  • Full- and Part-Time Available 
  • Certification is not required for this position. Training is provided at no cost to the employee. 

Job Summary

The Certified Nurse Aide/Personal Care Aide assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to residents, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Assisted Living Administrator, Primary CNA, or Assisted Living Resident Services Coordinator.
